The position is to be filled at the Cologne location in the Strategy & Sustainable Competitiveness department.
Your responsibility areas
In your role as Director Strategy & Transformation (m/f/d), you are responsible for the further development of our business performance and you drive strategic initiatives in close collaboration with our international locations. Additional responsibilities include:
- Development and implementation of strategy‑driven initiatives based on market trends and corporate objectives
- Promoting a culture of operational excellence through innovation, agile ways of working, performance optimization, and the implementation of a program for long-term competitiveness
- Managing business performance by analyzing relevant KPIs and implementing key improvement initiatives
- Standardizing KPI definitions, targets, and reporting processes across all locations, as well as harmonizing key business processes
- Driving and coordinating the continuous improvement process in collaboration with the line Organisation, subject‑matter experts, and your own team
- Cross‑functional collaboration to align strategies and initiatives with operational requirements and to support continuous improvement
- Disciplinary and functional leadership of the assigned employees
Your profile

- Successfully completed Master’s degree in Business Administration, Natural Sciences, or a comparable qualification
- Ideally five years of professional experience in the areas of strategy, commercial leadership, and the cable sector and a strong understanding of NKT’s markets, customers, and industry trends, with the ability to translate insights into clear strategic narratives and actionable initiatives
- Taking responsibility for long‑term competitiveness and continuous process improvement
- Proven ability to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities and drive operational optimization, combining a strong data‑driven approach with effective stakeholder management to align teams and achieve meaningful results
- Confident user of MS Office; experience with AI and digital tools to enhance processes and performance is an advantage
- Very good command of English; ideally also good German skills, both written and spoken
